She was Raised up in Santa Cruz, Mumbai at the RBI quarters and did her Schooling from Arya Vidya Mandir School and Attended Mithibai College in Vile Parle to complete her Graduation and she opted Science but spends most of her time in Theatre as She was Inclined to Arts as a Child including Acting, singing and dancing that’s why she didn’t find much interest in Acting. Shefali Shah made her Acting Debut from Bollywood Movie Rangeela in 1995 with the Minor Role After that she continued to work in television series, including Doordarshans Aarohan (1996-1997) and Sea Hawks (1997-1998).
Shefali Shah got her First Breakthrough in 1997 when she replaced Seema Kapoor in TV serial Hasratein from 1996 to 1999 And In she was offered a small role in Ram Gopal’s crime drama Satya, based on the Mumbai underworld. she played the seven-minute role of Pyaari Mhatre, the wife of a mafia gangster played by Manoj Bajpayee. for her Portrayal of Pyaari Mhatre, she received Screen Award for Best Supporting Actress at the 44th Filmfare Awards, and also nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress and was awarded the Critics Award for Best Actress.
